The Perseid Meteor Shower, the largest annual meteor shower on the planet, is once again upon us! It can produce 50 - 80 bright "falling stars" per hour, a spectacular show that is visible from all but the southernmost region of the globe. Unfortunately, the full moon makes it a bit less spectacular this year, but worth staying up nonetheless.
